2 DAYS ISABELA ISLAND- TINTORERAS ISLET & TUNELES CABO ROSA
If you are looking for adventure, this program offers you two of the most important sites where you can observe marine life, extraordinary landscapes and enjoy snorkeling.
To do this tour you must leave Santa Cruz to Isabela, or be on Isabela Island. It is a 2 days and 1 night program, for which you will have to spend 1 night in Isabela Island. DAY 1: TINTORERAS ISLET TOUR The Tintoreras Islet is home to mainly Tintoreras sharks, with which you can swim and do activities such as snorkeling. The sites to visit on our first day are: - Tintoreras Islet: THE HIGHLIGHT OF THIS TOUR! - Turtle Breeding Center: We will observe giant land turtles. - Flamingo Lagoon: As they are endangered animals they are not very visible, however, in Isabela Island we will be able to see them. - Wetlands: This area includes lagoons, marshes, and mangroves and is home to a unique variety of bird species such as: teros, curlews, ducklings and coots. DAY 2: TUNELES ROSE CAPE It is an iconic place on Isabela Island formed entirely by volcanic lava where you can see penguins and sea turtles, you can also see nests of newly hatched blue-footed boobies (depending on the seasons). This beautiful place is home to the Galapagos sharks known as Tintoreras and is the only place in the Archipelago where you can see Seahorses. We first go to Roca Union, a small islet located in the open sea where you can observe Pelicans, Nazca Boobies and Blue-footed Boobies and the occasional sea lion resting on the rocks. After this short stop we sail for about 45 minutes to reach one of the most beautiful landscapes of rocky lava formations in the Galapagos Islands, it is called tunnels because in ancient eruptions, lava passed under the earth forming tunnels that later collapsed and gave rise to these arches over the water where you can clearly see vegetation coming out of the rocks, crystal clear water, sea lions fluttering between the arches. Afterwards, we move to the site known as Finados for snorkeling with sea turtles, “Tintoreras” sharks, golden rays, eagle rays, seahorses, fish such as the Cirujanos, Damicelas,. The tour includes a light box lunch on the boat after the two activities, after lunch we prepare for the return to Isabela.
