FROM QUITO CITY TOUR AND MIDDLE OF THE WORLD INTI ÑAN
The city of Quito offers its visitors history, art, culture, and traditions within a pluricultural and multiethnic framework, along with ancestral and geographical knowledge of our environment.
The visit to Quito City and the Middle of the World is the most important and popular tour in all of Ecuador due to its history, architecture, and the deep traditions this city offers to its visitors. It is an exciting journey through its streets, squares, and churches, showcasing the European influence in America blended with native roots that merged over three centuries to create a unique artistic style in this Andean equatorial region.
The city is located at 2,850 meters above sea level and is surrounded by mountains, some of which serve as viewpoints, offering a glimpse of the typical geography of the southern Andes—or as we like to call it, a city in the Equatorial Andes.
To the north of the city, we find the monument to the equatorial line, which actually comprises two landmarks: one historical, commemorating the visit of "The Geodesic Mission from France," and another, a museum called "Intiñan," which represents the equatorial line as geographically calculated by GPS. "Intiñan," meaning "The Way of the Sun," highlights the knowledge of the indigenous groups who inhabited this land long before the arrival of the Incas.
We conclude our visit with a return to the hotel where the tour began, expressing our deepest gratitude for choosing our service and the satisfaction of having contributed to your knowledge and enjoyment.
