Flights

Compare flights, then plan the trip that follows

Search flights from a partner, then use our city guides and verified local tours to plan what you do once you land.

How to find a flight that is actually good value

The cheapest fare on the screen is rarely the cheapest trip. Baggage fees, airport transfers and an inconvenient arrival time can add more than the fare difference you were chasing. Before you book, compare the full cost of the journey, not only the headline price.

Flexible dates are the single biggest saver. Moving a trip by a day or two, or flying midweek instead of on a Friday, often changes the price more than any other choice you make. Most search tools show a calendar view for exactly this reason.

  • Check what the fare includes: cabin bag, checked bag and seat selection are often extra on low-cost carriers.
  • Compare nearby airports. A slightly more distant airport with a direct train into the centre can beat a closer one with an expensive transfer.
  • Look at arrival time. A late-night landing can mean a taxi instead of public transport and a night of hotel you barely use.
  • Prefer one booking for the whole journey when you connect. If the first leg is delayed, the airline is responsible for getting you to the final destination.

When to book

For short-haul trips within Europe, booking roughly one to three months ahead usually gives a reasonable price. Long-haul routes tend to reward earlier booking, particularly for peak summer and the winter holidays. These are rules of thumb, not guarantees, and prices move with demand on specific routes.

If your dates are fixed and the price looks fair, book it. Waiting for a further drop is a gamble, and the cost of a missed fare is usually higher than the saving you were hoping for.

Plan the part of the trip that happens on the ground

A flight gets you there. What you do next decides whether the trip was worth it. Our city guides cover what to see, where to stay and how to get around, written for travellers rather than for search engines.

When you know where you are going, browse verified local tours with small groups and local operators. Booking a tour for your first full day also gives you a fixed point to plan your arrival around.

Frequently asked questions

Does Yovu sell flights?

No. The search on this page is provided by a travel partner and you complete the booking on their site. Yovu may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you.

Is it cheaper to book flights and tours together?

Not necessarily. Flights and tours are priced separately, so it is usually best to book your flight first, then choose tours that fit your arrival and departure times.

How early should I arrive for a tour on the first day?

Leave a generous buffer after landing. Allow for baggage, immigration and the transfer into the city, and choose a tour that starts several hours after your scheduled arrival.

What if my flight is delayed and I miss a tour?

Check the cancellation and rebooking terms shown on the tour page before you book, and contact the operator as early as you can. Terms vary between operators.
